American Red Cross Lifeguarding
NY Lifeguard offers the updated 2026 American Red Cross Lifeguarding program in a three-day format. This entry-level course trains participants to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies with confidence. Students learn to manage breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS arrives. Upon successful completion, participants earn a two (2) year certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid through the American Red Cross. A complimentary adult and pediatric pocket face mask is included, along with all required training materials and certification fees.
Blended indicates that an online portion must be finished before the course. Following registration, the online session will be provided.

American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding
INCLUDES ALL REQUIRED LIFEGUARDING CERTIFICATIONS PLUS WATERFRONT CERTIFICATION
The goal of Waterfront Skills Module within the American Red Cross Lifeguarding 2026 program is to equip participants who are certified in Lifeguarding (including instruction in deep water 7 feet or deeper) with the knowledge and abilities needed to:
Prevent, identify and respond to aquatic emergencies in non-surf, open-water settings found at public parks, resorts, summer camps, and campgrounds.
Candidates must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification to qualify for this course.

American Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguarding
Provides entry-level participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills to help prevent, identify, and respond to aquatic emergencies in shallow water up to five feet, and to deliver care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS professionals assume care.
Blended indicates that an online portion must be finished before the course. Following registration, the online session will be provided.

American Red Cross Pool Activity Leader (PAL)
The purpose of this American Red Cross course is to offer an alternative to requiring on-site lifeguard staffing during camp trips that include swimming or aquatic activities at facilities already staffed with lifeguards. This is accomplished by training trip leaders using selected components of the American Red Cross Basic Water Rescue, Waterfront Lifeguarding, and Lifeguard Management curricula.

Lifeguard Recertification
NY Lifeguard offers the updated The main objective of a recertification course is to provide participants who currently hold American Red Cross Lifeguarding (including Deep Water) certification the opportunity to refresh and practice required knowledge and skills in a structured course environment in order to maintain their Lifeguarding (including Deep Water) credentials. Participants must possess a valid certification, or one that has expired within the past 30 days, in American Red Cross Lifeguarding that included training in water depths of seven feet or greater.
